Hi All, I found this comment on a Chinese ROHS information site: "Labels, marks, and disclosure are required - There are three marks required: A label defines whether or not the products contain any of the six hazardous substances. It is only required if they are present. A table, in the product documentation, must disclose which hazardous substances are contained in the product and the component(s) they are present in. Packaging material must be disclosed on the outside packaging. DCA has made English translations of the final draft standards for the marking requirement and the maximum concentration value requirement available. " This implies that if the product is ROHS compliant it doesn't need a lable, only if it isn't compliant does it need one........ I put the second symbol into the google translator (I found it in the ChinaRoHS document), and Google translated it "drugs", so 'no drugs'. I am still waiting for a response from the manufacturer. Hi Genny! I have your picture posted. Go to: http://stevezeva.homestead.com/files/AsianRoHSLabel.JPG Read Genny's request below. Can anybody translate this label? -Steve Gregory- ________________________________ From: Genny Gibbard [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Wednesday, September 06, 2006 10:47 AM To: Steve Gregory Subject: Chinese RoHS label? We were supposed to receive an order of parts that were RoHS compliant, but there is nothing on the items themselves, that specifically identifies the items as RoHS. This label is on the outer box. Someone here at work thinks it is loosely translated as "no poison". Could you post it so I could see whether anyone knows if this is actually a label for RoHS compliance? <<AsianRoHSLabel.JPG>> --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-615-7100 ext.2815 ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-615-7100 ext.2815 -----------------------------------------------------
