Inge,

I am talking about this one http://www.evanscap.com/THQ3-LSpecTHQ3pdf.pdf and wonder if the pins are more or less resistant to flexure than copper. The caps are soldered on the board, but the body is not glued. In operation, the board will move back and forth, so the body of the cap moves, pulling on the leads.
Imagine the central pin being of a material I've forgotten (Ru I believe) with the Ni sleeve on top of it. Not exactly a flexure resiliant construction...

Thanks,

Ioan

What pins? For connectors? For soldering? What application? What size?
What watts?

Subject: [TN] Reliability of Ni pins

Hi Technos,

I would like to know how the Ni pins measure up against Cu in terms of
short term (thermal shock and vibration) and long term reliability.

Any experiences with that?

Thanks,

Ioan
