Ioan,

Our standard test is 85C/85%RH non-biased over night and then put a
non-current-limited power supply across them and if they blow up they
were cracked. When we're in a hurry we've put the in boiling water for
an hour and then put a power supply across them.

Subject: [TN] Finding cracked capacitors

Hi Technos,

a never ending story, ceramic caps that crack, possibly due to
depanelizing. The damage is not visible, unless the cap is cross
sectioned.

Is there any testing, thermal cycling or something like that, that could
show the damage real fast?

Thanks,

Ioan
