These events are put on by the IPC Designers Council ___chapter__, who pay for the speakers to come and talk (or recruit speakers to come and talk for free). The IPC gives us NO money to tape these, nor is it a sure thing that the presenters would be willing to allow themselves to be taped and lose an income stream. The Pacific Northwest chapter keeps the power-point presentations of those speakers who allow us to on our site, go to http://dcchapters.ipc.org/pnw then navigate to "Resources," then click the "Meeting Presentation" link. Other chapters do what they can, but it is ALL voluntary. Helpers are ALWAYS welcome, ask your local chapter how you can help!!!!! -- George Patrick Webmaster, IPC Designers Council Pacific Northwest Chapter. Tektronix, Inc. One coming up which caught my eye is the DFM / DFT presentation at the Cascade Chapter. For us in the "Great White North", attending is time, cost, & distance prohibitive. Has IPC looked into archiving these, then making available to all of us connected via internet only for a nominal fee? Some of these I would be willing to pay for myself just to try to keep up with the latest "knowledge pool" out there. I would guess that many if not all of these are already formatted in a PowerPoint slide presentation. So it wouldn't take much more to make them available for sale to the rest of the IPC membership. The local chapter should get some of the proceeds of the sales ( maybe the entire amount.) Perhaps making note transcripts mandatory by the presenters can also be considered to go along with the slide presentations. Of course, then us remotes would only miss out on the discussion, but that is life in general, "You can't have it all !!!" Comments, Ideas, Feedback ???
