Hello, Someone passed me a very old article by Watkins-Johnson Company on "Component Density Guidelines for PC Boards Using Surface Mount Devices" with its first page missing. The article in about how we can calculate the board density upfront so that decision can be made on to increase layer count, use smaller package, split boards, narrow trace width, etc. The last paragraph of the article mentioned that the density guideline is made possible because the company has skilled people with the resource necessary to do the board density studies. It goes to mention that it will continue to improve the board density study. I would very much like to contact this dedicated group of people on this density guideline study. If anyone of you happen to have the email or website, kindly let me know. Thanks in advance.
