Dan Theoretlically, you can use your 5 zone oven. FIgure on, ballpark, about 20 - 25% less through-put for the lead-free profile with the higher thermal excursion, depending upon whether you prefer to use a straight-ramp or "classic" ramp-soak-spike profile. The best way to tell is to take a typical lead-free profile from a lead-free supplier spec and attempt to profile your most complicated PCBAs to that profile. If you can do it with your existing 5 zone, albeit at a slower conveyor speed, you're home free. If not, it might be time to go shopping. You better believe that the oven and wave-solder manufacturers are seeing a "Y2K" effect with respect to 7-1-06.
