Franklin, I'm not sure what you are after, but myself I use to: 1. cut out the smaller and interesting parts from 1-5 boards. 2. stack them and pull thin wires through all 5 barrels on the corners of the sample, kind of sewing the package together. 3. While pulling the wires so the stack fits perfectly, I give a few drops of Loctite into the stack to lock each sample against the other. 4. Ready for molding into cups and grinding. What I'm looking for is a device to grind/polishing a single mount (3 pc board coupons in a single puck) by hand. In days past I could do a somewhat decent job, with todays smaller holes, even down past 10 to 8 and even 6 I find it difficult to hit the center of the hole +/- 10%. Beuhler makes what they call the PC-Met jr, selling cost $2500 for the kit which is crazy as they sell the complete kit for 6 mounts at $4500. So I'm looking for a used unit, or one from another source (not even sure who else might make one, perhaps Struers) So that's my need today...any suggestions would be wonderful. So many analysts at TN and no help...hm...you may have t cry higher, many of us are old and halfdeaf and the battery might been at low level, and the glasses uncleansed since weeks. cherries Ingemar Hernefjord Ericsson Microwave Systems PS. Noooooo, but they jump all over Steve's microsection question....jeeesh...I'm still polishing single-puck mounts by hand and my fingertips hurt...and my head still hurts. But on the bright side the temperature here in Dallas is 30 degrees cooler today than yesterday...whew...Fall has arrived.
