Soften it with a soak in hot a MEK or NMP bath and scrap
it off with a thin sharp blade. Other method, glue chip carrier to a
block, fix block and use a slow speed blade to cut epoxy, which will
direct particles in one direction, and vacuum the particles away to keep
chip clean.

Subject: [TN] Semi chip removal tool wanted

Hi everyone.
Anybody seen a good tool for removing silver epoxy mounted semiconductor
chips? Probably kind of electromechanical mini tool, but I have not
found any useful. Diamond high rpm tool is not good because you spread
particles all around. Shearing is seemingly best way. Today's method
with sharp tool and hammer is too primitive.
