Oh and by the way... I don't think the FDA will let you use the 'pluck or lights' in Haggis in America... Just the liver and stomach... and a bit of oatmeal and onions... they must be a bit squeamish... I tried it once at the Highland Games here after some urging by my wife... it mostly tastes like sheep's liver... which is kind of like really old mutton... (real high in Cholesterol too)... I'm not so keen on the Haggis but my wife just loves it... She's the Scot in the family... She goes for liver and onions about once a week... I'm mostly Irish so the beer really appeals to me... The bangers are good sausages grilled on the BBQ served with grilled onions and 'banger sauce' which is a bit like BBQ sauce with a lot of Lee and Perrins' Worcestershire sauce in it I think... They make those meat pies and pastries too... not bad if you like bland food... I prefer my food with a bit more spice.. but the beer and 'brats' (bangers) and Bag pipes and drums for music just make for a walloping great time... Looks like we will have a 'Texas' Braveheart for the Octoberfest.... LOL Bonny lad... Bonny. Bill Brooks - KG6VVP PCB Design Engineer, C.I.D.+, C.I.I. I draw a very definitive line this side of haggis, and will only do bangers and mash under coercion. Them damn Brits sure know how to screw up a good breakfast. (btw, in Scotland they pronounce it Waddle. I sat next to a scotsman on a plane once who just happened to have the same last name, spelled Waddell but pronounced Waddle.) Even more interesting (to me at least) is that I met another Pete Waddell recently on the internet. Of course my legal name is not Pete. (tho I did get the name Pete at birth, it is not on my birth certificate). And those of you who do know my legal name have already been sworn to secrecy under pain of persecution in print and internet. p. George, the Waddell name is Scottish. Every time I watch Brave Heart I want to paint my face blue and moon a Brit.
