When I was in the Materials and Processes lab at Singer Kearfott we had a platers helper (deaf) who was trying to heat up the concentrated sulfuric acid etch back tank and it got too hot, so he used a hand pump and was putting it into a 5 gallon non tempered glass Sparkletts water bottle to cool it. I learned hand signals VERY quickly and averted a real disaster.
