With your membership you can get a 50% off discount on these specs. Plus your $50.00 coupon you get when you renew your membership is valid for use to get more off on the specs you purchase. Here's a link to the discount page... you will want to check it out. http://dc.ipc.org/DCMembership/DISCDOCS4DCmembers.pdf Maybe some of the other designers can tell you what specs they use on a regular basis... I use the IPC-2221,IPC-2222,IPC-D-325, IPC-2615, IPC-6012, J-STD-001, IPC-SM-782, IPC-D-316, IPC-4101, IPC/JPCA-2315, IPC-2223. The IPC-SM-782 is old... there is a new spec out for land patterns but I have not purchased it yet. It's IPC-7351 ... I plan to get it sometime this year. I recently joined the Designer's Council, and I wanted to get some input from those of you out there that have been working with IPC specifications. I have been designing boards with through-hole, SMT and mixed technologies for some time, but have never had the IPC specs for designing them. In an effort to "get with the program", I wanted to purchase the specs that would be most beneficial. Can anyone tell me what specifications best cover the design of T/H and SMT technology boards? I also am working on some designs where AC power is present on the boards, and I am concerned about trace separation for a given voltage. I know that there are specifications out there that address this, but I am not sure if they are UL or IPC based. Can anyone point me in the direction of these specs? Thanks in advance for your help!
