I have to agree with Barbara. Although some of the chapters have active webmasters , MANY seem not to be updating their material. Links to websites might be sufficient for the larger chapters, useless for the smaller ones. -- George Patrick Tektronix, Inc. Central Engineering, PCB Design Group P.O. And now, I can contact any of you, through the links you supplied, Bill. Dear Andy (our fearless, gentleman leader), In reply to your questions: How many of the subscribers to this Forum would like to see more detail about Designers Council affairs, progress and thinking? MOST OF US, PLEASE How many would like to see Chapter reports circulated on this Forum? MOST OF US, PLEASE Include your own opinions if you would like to add to this discussion. MOST OF US, PLEASE If there's enough groundswell, I'll talk to the Exec and see how we can implement it, then make a recommendation to Jean Hebeisen and Christ Poulsen. YES, PLEASE. In response to Roger and Devon: (Yes, and Yes. However, instead of distributing reports via the forum, would it be possible to just provide a link to a web address/page, where more active content counld be placed or linked? Along with the link would be a thumbnail sketch of what's contained there.) I WOULD LIKE TO SEE EVERYTHING ON A FORUM. THEN WE CAN PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT WE WANT TO READ AND ABSORB. BECAUSE...... OUR CHAPTER NO LONGER HAS A WEB MASTER AND THERE IS NOTHING UP TO DATE TO LINK TO IN HOUSTON. WE ARE STRUGGLING TO STAY AFLOAT. WITHOUT SUSY WEBB, I AM SURE THAT WE WOULD BE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA. ......THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, SUSY. In response to Christi, THANKS SO MUCH FOR RESPONDING. YOU GIVE ME A GLIMMER OF HOPE THAT SOMEONE UP THERE CARES. Barbara in Houston, CID and loving it. Barbara J. Burcham, C.I.D. We listened to Dieter do the presentation and changed the screens on our computers while he spoke. In that presentation there is a ORGANIZATION CHART of sorts that they used to give an overview of the organization and its relationship to the IPC Board of Directors... etc.. I put a screenshot of that on my website where you can view it. Just click the link below... http://www.pcbwizards.com/IPCDC1.htm To answer the rest of your inquiry, Denny McGuirk is the current President of the IPC http://www.ipc.org/stafflist1.asp#Exe Jean Hebeisen is the Director of Professional Development for the IPC http://www.ipc.org/stafflist1.asp#pro Christi Poulsen is the Administrative assistant for Continuing Education http://www.ipc.org/stafflist1.asp#pro Nilesh Naik is one of the members of the Board of Directors of the IPC http://www.ipc.org/BOD.asp The Executive committee of the DC meets with Jean and Christi and Nelish at our semi-annual meetings and discuss the issues regarding the designers council and its activities and programs. We also keep in touch via e-mail and there are teleconferences and the like from time to time. Jean and Christi have dual roles in the IPC and help run the administration of the designer's council. (No small task indeed) http://dc.ipc.org/scontacts/contacthome.htm The current members of the Executive Committee are posted on the DC website as well http://dc.ipc.org/about/execboard.asp You will note that most of them are also serving on the Education Committee as well http://dc.ipc.org/about/educomm.asp I hope that helps put things a little more clearly... So you know you can contact any of us via e-mail with suggestions and concerns and most all of us are more than willing to help... you have a good executive committee and education committee working for your Designers council fellow members and friends and they contribute a lot of their time and energy towards making the DC a more valuable asset to each and every member and the designer community as a whole. Something that tells me who Denny, Jean, Christi, and Nilesh are. Those names have no faces and mean little to me until I understand their positions. <snip> Barbara J. Burcham, C.I.D.
