We are considering sites for a new plant. One of the candidates is about 100m from a railway line. It is the mainline across the country and has very high traffic. We have recieved a vibration study of the property but are not sure how much impact this will have on production processes. Is there any level of vibration that is known to affect smt processes ,through hole, wave soldering, microscope use? peak particle velocities were measured at 0.045 in/sec , and 0.005in/sec background vibration levels. I have a table that indicates >0.01 as slightly perceptible to humans , >0.025 distinctly perceptible to humans. Any experiences or input would be appreciated, we don't usually have to worry about these things on the prairies. --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-615-7100 ext.2815 -----------------------------------------------------
