Phil: Probably the central question needing answering is how many of these are you going to clean per month, and how fast do you need them cleaned up? My initial reaction is that if you are going to clean less than one per business day, and do not need them cleaned immediately, I would seriously consider finding an old plating house that still used vapor degreasing... if such a thing still exists. There are many many ways to clean, and it all comes down to the big three tradeoffs, Good Fast Cheap Pick two... After full assembly this unit it filled with dielectric oil. For units which require repair after failure, we want to clean out the old oil and any residue from the failure or from machine shop rework. We would like a system that does not drain into the local sewer or waste water system. Where this unit is used at 180kV we need to get all the conductive schmoutz out. What are recommended cleaning methods? Is there a MIL or NASA spec for cleaning large parts like this? I know that a final wash with DI water is probably the best, but what would cut the oil best and what method of application? --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-615-7100 ext.2815 ----------------------------------------------------- Phil Nutting --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-615-7100 ext.2815 ----------------------------------------------------- The all-new My Yahoo! – Get yours free!
