Yes David, they are tin plated. See the following datasheet:

I have a couple of questions:

1. Is 63% tin and 37% lead so dissimilar that it would create conditions  for
dissimilar metal corrosion?

2. If the solder didn't flow up into the wiping area of the contact (from  my
observations, it didn't) should we still replace the connector?

Sorry to be beating a dead-horse to death, but I want truely want to
understand why the rework that we did was so bad...I want to learn from this
experience.

The only reason I can think of is that the mating pins  are also tin
plated and a layer of solder would create dissimilar metal  corrosion.
