I am looking for ideas for a pcb assembly coating, the function of which is
to hide the component IDs to prevent piracy and copying. This is a
non-specific requirement which comes up from time to time.

Basic requirements:
1) Opaque - black, but could be any colour I guess
2) Fairly permanent and resistant to tampering - leads me to an epoxy type?
Anything can be removed if you try hard enough, but epoxy would be the
toughest
3) Easily applied, no special equipment - aerosol can? Brush on with fast
(thermal cure)? Single part?

There's some other factors which would be specific to particular assemblies
(thermal and electrical characteristics) of course, but I'm just looking for
something generic at the moment.

Anyone have any ideas or already use something for this purpose?
TIA,
Peter
