Per your schematic, the diode is installed correctly. However, we usually look at the cathode end as pin 1 (square pad) so this is a conflict. Since on many of our boards, space is limited and sometimes the triangular symbol can not be used, we stress to install pin 1 (marked end, cathode) in the square hole to make it easier for the operator.
