1. The original version of this was shown by Dr Jennings in Chicago at an IPC meeting, as I recall it was 1978. The paper was published in the IPC Tech Review, I still have an original hard copy in my EmR (Electromigration Resistance) file. 2. The original was 16 mm, I had an original 16 mm from Dr Jennings, but I'm not sure if it survived the move from DE to CO. It was later transferred to VHS then to a computer file format. 3. In an earlier life we built a simple unit to measure the time to reach 500 microamp current leakage based on this. The digital timer started automatically when the current leakage hit 4 microamps current leakage, turned off when 500 microamps was reached. We used it to measure current leakage on comb patterns from the IPC B-25 test boards. Surprisingly, only got dendrites in about half the cases when got the 500 microamps current leakage. As I recall, it only cost about USD 200 to build the equipment. We did publish data gathered with this unit, plus SIR and ionics, on several flux/soldering/cleaning processes for PWAs, as well as on several different IR fusing fluid/cleaning agent combinations. [The difference in WSFF/water cleaning & SAFF/solvent or emulsion cleaning were striking, with a several orders of magnitude increase in SIR with the latter processes. 4. The device was offered to the IPC Cleaning & Coating Committee/Electromigration TG, but I don't know if anyone took advantage of it. The schematics are still in my EmR files. 5. I believe that Dr Jennings is no longer with us, which is unfortunate.
