I'm not too sure how soldering started in Electronics, but I know it was
used long before electronics as a method to create Stained Glass windows or
to assemble sweated copper pipes. Applying Tin/lead to copper foil along the
edges of the pieces of glass is commonly used today in making the popular
colored glass windows and lamp shades... I know, because my wife does that.

Interesting project Steve... it should be fun. This should take you back to
the time of Alexander Graham Bell and his cohorts... at the very least...

Subject: [TN] History of Soldering Links

Hi All!

I'm going to write a small article about the history of soldering, and how
it's evolved to what it is today. I've done a couple of searchs with Google
amd
Wisenut, and suprisingly, turned up few links.

I'm going to keep looking, but I thought I'd ask this fine group if any of
you have any good links to share about the history of soldering?

Thanks a bunch!

-Steve Gregory-
