There are many things that are unique about automotive electronics but in general the OEMs require a high level of product reliability and they are also focused on documented process and quality control (i.e. manufacturing traceability). One of the most challenging issue is related to moisture-sensitive devices (MSD), especially for very dense boards with MSDs on both sides.
