I think that C.I.D. Certification Exam is a great idea. The only bad point is that it can not measure the ability of the person to apply and comprehend the material included in the study guides. I have see a mechanical designer study the material and pass the test with better scores than a EE designer then fail to apply the knowledge to designs. Which later resulted in dismissal and a quick hire at another place and another dismal after nonperformance. Some people have great memories and test really well. My conclusion is that if you can read the technical jargon contained and remember it then you will pass the test ill regardless of the ability to apply the contents. My observations and conclusions are my own and not my employers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DesignerCouncil Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8d To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF DesignerCouncil.
