Basically, I hate to call them Post-Mortems, unless the process was a total disaster! Seriously, we do write "First Build Reports" or 'Prototype Build Reports'. As a Product and Process Development Engineer, I have been involved in these for a long time, in a couple of different places. What you want to include can range from guidance/check-list (to avoid all the defects) for the next build to a complete DFM for the designer. Typically, the first page will of course contain the name of the submitter, name and part number of the product and the list of approvers. The contents would be: 1. Product Description - I usually include a couple of digital pictures. Describe Technology, chemistries and finishes 2. Documentation Reference list - customer documentation, process documentation, visual aids, program names, IPC610 or what ever the standard used was. 3. Equipment set up parameters and profiles 4. Design rule violations 5. Process Issues - frankly put down everything that happened, so that steps can be taken to better yourself the next run and/or next product. 6. Fixture and Tooling Issues 7. DFM Recommendations 8. Closing conclusions and recommendations. I am afraid I cannot actually send out a build-report - contract violations, etc... Hope this helps. You may contact me off-line for details for the next couple of months, after which I am afraid I do not know where I will be, since our plant is closing :-( Any recommendations????? Am wondering if any are performing Post Mortems on their NPI's. If so, would anybody be willing to share forms, doc's, etc. Thank you Barry --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 -----------------------------------------------------
