Jeffery, we also use the colored mask (blue) to indicate prototypes as we often have to do testing in the field. That way, when a blue board shows up at our repair depot, they automatically pull it and return it to Engineering. Once a board gets production released, the color changes to green. We've also used different colors to denote different versions on production boards to make it easier and more positive for our field reps to identify new and old versions.
