Marie; I ordered some disposable wrist straps and I have been testing these out on this lady. So far it has been working. The part number is 2209 from the 3M company. I ordered them from one of those technical catalogs. The way that I do it is, I cut a strip as long as I need to for around her wrist, then I peel to expose the sticky tape and place it around her arm. I then fold back a portion of the ESD black conductor to touch the face of her ESD strap that makes the contact with the skin. It works, one wrist strap can be cut into enough strips for about a week. Hope maybe this helps you too. Thanks P. Lance Mayes Mfg. There is nothing really that you can do about this, I use to put clear nail polish over the snaps of jean/pants to eliminate the rashing on my stomach (you can't place this on the metal of the ESD strap, it would make it unreliable. I can wear the strap if it is not directly on the wrist. Have the strap adjusted to the largest width, and place it nearer the elbow. I don't seem to react as bad as I do directly on the wrist. Hope this helps. Could your band have exposed nickel plated surfaces? Could the band have been acidentally immersed in a solvent/oil/something which is being retained between the links and is constantly being exposed to your operator's skin? She has a rash that develops when she wears the ESD writs straps. When the metal comes in contact with her skin the rash shows up within a few hours. Are there any good remedies or has any one had this problem before? Anything would be appreciated. Thanks P.
