Hello Gregg, At present IPC does not have a standard or guideline for bare board packaging/preservation. There have been, however, an increasing number of requests within the industry for this. Recognizing this, I am starting to build a task group that will work to develop guidance on the packaging and storage of bare boards for future inclusion in the IPC-6012 performance specification. I'll be mining various IPC standards groups for volunteers towards this effort, but if you or anyone else on TechNet is interested, let me know and I can add you to the list. Hello Technetters, Is there an IPC standard for the packaging and preservation of PWB's, specifically how to package (type of bags), inclusion of desiccant, moisture indicator card, etc? And if there is no IPC standard, is there technical guidance as to how dry PWB's should be prior to subjecting them to thermal excursions (soldering) and how to properly package and store them? Thanks. -- Gregg --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 -----------------------------------------------------
