Steve Gregory, Never saw that happen. My only thought would be that the solder mask was not cured sufficiently or not applied properly. Had a close call like that once. In developing a semi-aqueous cleaning process, saw conformal coating removed with a semi-aqueous cleaning solution at ambient temperature. The conformal coating was properly mixed and applied. Found out that the chemistry eats urethanes from the manufacturer at specific temperatures and concentration. Contact me off line for details. Hope this helps. Hi All! You're probably wondering; "What the heck? Snake board?" That's what I call it. Built this assembly (all PTH), waved it, and then washed it, went to get it out of our cleaner, and all the solder mask is coming off in big slabs just like a snake does when he sheds his skin! Go look at "Mask Peel, Mask Peel 2, & Mask Peel 3" at: http://www.stevezeva.homestead.com I wash in a Electrovert MCS-1000 with Kyzen XJN, and the mask on the board was a Dupont Vacrel dry film. Never have had a problem with Vacrel dry films. The mask doesn't look degraded, or damaged in any way...it's just not stuck to the board! Anybody ever seen this happen before? Unfortunately, this was a rather expensive assembly.....:^{ Nice way to start the year off, huh? -Steve Gregory- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 -----------------------------------------------------
