we currently using an older (dos based) system to run our excellon drills and routers.. they are basically terminal concentrators with sixteen ports. we have twelve of them running now, with the other four ports empty.. we would like to use the other four ports, but i am finding that there are licensing issues which will cost us $500 a pop to enable those lines.. i don't have any problem paying it if i have to. .but i just wonder if in the past ten years or so (as long as we have had that system) if there is a cheaper sleeker alternative than to run that old server... there's not much to it, and if i have to spend $2000, i would much rather look into upgrades.. thanks! ____ Sergio T.
