Steve: On this page, the vendor states press-fit connectors in general can be put on after parylene coating. I presume this is because a parylene coating is so thin the edges of the compliant pins will "bite" right through and make contact with the hole barrel with no ill effect on reliability. So, "Parylene Piercing Press-fit Connectors" was probably used in a generic sense, or some marketer has invented a buzz word for his connectors that really applies to all press-fit connectors in general. I don't know if any reliability studies have been done on this specifically. http://www.paratronix.com/apps/guide.asp ========================= Bob Barr Manufacturing Engineering Formation, Inc. ========================= > -----Original Message----- > From: Steve Gregory [mailto:[log in to unmask]] > Sent: Thursday, December 11, 2003 9:25 AM > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: [TN] Parylene Piercing Press-fit Connectors... > > > Mornin' All! > > Yesterday I heard a new term I'm not familiar with; "Parylene Piercing > Press-fit Connectors".
