I assume that you mean there is a solderablity problem on a nickel contact found on a battery. If this indeed is the problem, my thought would be the nickel plating on the lead itself must have either been placed on an unacceptable surface (ie., oxidized) or was co-deposited with too many organics or phosphates. Hopefully others on this forum can add to this.
