David / Ingemar,

But,.... does anyone REALLY know whether red phosphorus bearing materials were (or were not) used for tantalums?  We DO know they were used on plastic encapsulated devices/chips!

I guess it makes little difference if the power supply circuit fails slightly before, or after, the rest of the circuit .....  unless you are in an airplane ... and someone is gunning for you ..... or you REALLY think you need a pacemaker.

Not to beat a dead horse to horseburger ... but still curious, nonetheless

Inge,

The molding compound was manufactured by a major Japanese company.
It was shipped world wide to anyone who wanted to buy it.

Didn't seem to be a major problem to most users.
It was a serious problem for a number of computer manufacturers. The military got rather excited also!
They don't want to talk about it.
