I'd start with a Radiation Safety Book! -- Isn't that stuff radioactive?  Which Isotope are you using?

Subject: [TN] electroplating newbie

Greetings!

I am a BioMed student so know little about electroplating. I have two electrochemistry books on my desk, and two inorganic chem. books, and a power supply from TecNu on the way here for 2-week trial.

I need to plate Cobalt 10 micron – wide and deep tracks. Hard Cobalt, actually, but that is for the future.

Would someone please advise me on where I should start looking for techniques and required chemistry? It seems that the books I have assume prior knowledge of how to set everything up and go deep into “tweaking” for best results, while all I want is to have some understanding of what I need to do to set the system up, like where to buy the bath (and why?), etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Thank you very much in advance for your time and assistance!

g.
