Hi Greg As a guy who programs a GSM, 2 hours set-up is not an outrageous amount of time (program the part into the database, program the matrix tray, run some vision checks on the component). However - we would eat the cost as being part of overhead, not hit the customer with a charge for it. regards, Graham Collins Process Engineer, Northrop Grumman Canada Corporation Halifax (902) 873-2000 ext 6215 >>> [log in to unmask] 10/31/03 11:20AM >>> technetters, We recently introduced a 516 pin 1mm BGA on one of our latest boards. Our EMS provider is trying to charge us 2 hours of line time (for a significant amount of money) for time spent adjusting the lighting on their GSM cameras. They claim that the non-uniform ball grid layout was causing recognition errors at placement. It has been a while since I've worked directly with P&P equipment, but 2 hours of time seems a ridiculous amount of time to adjust the cameras. Any thoughts? ----------------------------------------------------------- Gregory Parke Senior Manufacturing Engineer Coriolis Networks 330 Codman Hill Road Boxborough, MA 01719 Voice: 978-264-1904 x651 Fax: 978-264-1909 [log in to unmask] ----------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 -----------------------------------------------------
