Hi Eric,

We have to "massage" the pins of the formflex before each change-over
to assure that the pins come up, which is time-consuming and a
frustrating job for the operators. A second problem is that the modules
sometimes need to be repaired because of oil leakage.
But although the system doesn't work as trouble-free as it's supposed
to do, it's still much easier than having to deal with individual
support pins, especially for complex double sided boards My opinion is
that formflex is far from perfect, but still the best board-support
solution you can get for the DEK these days.
So far the service of DEK has been quite good, and even some
modifications to the system were done on our request. I know that DEK is
working very hard to improve formflex.

Good Morning Everybody,
I was wondering if anybody had any comments to make about the
reliability of the Formflex system and the back-up given for this
product. I am struggling with ours despite cleaning and much exercising.
(Formflex, not me!) The ELA has now been out of action for a week and we
have transferred production back to the old SMTech.
Replies off line if you feel more comfortable.
Regards
Eric Dawson
