Hi John- Here is a snippet of ROSA. ACI offers solderability restoration services by using Reduced Oxide Soldering Activation (ROSA) technology to remove the oxide layers from circuit boards or components and then re-tin or otherwise coat them to maintain a solderable surface. The ROSA technology uses electrochemical reduction principles to convert surface oxides of a variety of surface finishes, thus restoring solderability. This process is performed in an aqueous solution so any residues are easily and quickly rinsed away. Solderability testing has revealed inadequate wetting. The parts are on tape and reel. The plating is a thin layer of tin over nickel. We believe we have a oxidation problem. Does anyone have any ideas AT ALL on how we can recover these parts. The part has gone obsolete I have 86,000 of these things that I really really need to use. Any help would be appreciated Thanks John Foster --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 -----------------------------------------------------
