I had heard of 15 oz. but nothing as high as 40. Coulda used that about '86 for a power supply I put together. We had a 1/4" copper plate milled at a machine shop and then bonded it to a laminate. I will keep these guys on file. -----Original Message----- From: Steve Gregory [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Friday, August 29, 2003 3:39 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [TN] Ultra-thick Copper Hi All!! Hope you all have a safe and happy Labor Day! Got something to show you, that you might find interesting. Myself, and Robert Tarzwell are working together on a project that I can't really talk too much about, except to say that we're dealing with a LOT of power. So this calls for some VERY THICK copper. Robert turned me on to a company, UPE, that deals in very thick copper PCB's. I called them yesterday and asked if they had a coupon, or sample, of a board that shows their capability, and they said they would send me something... I recieved the package today, and I am just flabbergasted! This coupon has 10-oz, 20-oz, and 30-oz copper traces and PTH's on it! I took some pictures of it and posted them on my web page. This company can go as high as 40-oz! Go to: http://www.stevezeva.homestead.com and look at 10-oz, 20-oz, and 30-oz copper. Probably not going to need the 30-oz stuff for this project, but we will definitely be above 10-oz... I didn't know they made PCB's like this! -Steve Gregory- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 -----------------------------------------------------
