I have
replied to Steve separately but wanted to post here. The claims made by this
company are no different than the other guys. The two biggest players also claim
reduced dross, lower surface tension and fewer defects if you use their
higher purity solder. Of course this comes at a higher cost. Should not 63/37
solder be just that? I am sure that some solders have more oxides than others
resulting in more dross initially but the difference is going to become
negligible with use. I have heard essentially the same claims from reps
for several companies. It seems to me that they all want you to change out your
pot ( 1000-2000 Lb ) paying you for the metal. Profit for them. And every sales
rep who has "enlightened" me about the benefits of their solder has also
promoted the use of their dross inhibitor or reclaimed. Could this be the real
dross reducer? I told Steve I am changing my solder and flux supplier not
because of any claims but because I like the product and the vendor.
Just
my observations. Hope nobody gets mad at me this time.

Mornin' again!
We've been approached recently
by a company named Metallic Resources
( http://www.metallicresources.com
) that makes a solder they call "Four 9's"
( 99.99% pure), and they
do it by using a proprietary electrolytic process.
They make a lot of
claims about their solder. I was wondering if anybody uses their solder, and
if everything they say about their solder is
true.
Thanks!
