Hi Don, IPC-A-610C, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001C have criteria for Pierced tab wrap and soldering. There is minor variation in the content of 620 when compared to the other two standards which are consistent. In general for a target condition these state: Wire passes through the eye Wrapped to contact two sides of the terminal Insulation clearance, but less than 2 wire diameters The number of wire attachments for this terminal is not addressed but there are restrictions on modification of the wires to permit the attachment. I'll try rephrasing in hope that somebody has run into this situation before. Our company has received switches with a different termination from what we are accostomed to receiving. These switches have holes in a flat tab rather than a 'T' shaped termination. We are trying to determine how many wires can pass through the hole. Is there a maximum percent of fill? Is the recommended attachment method to twist and tin the wires before attaching to the switch? Are there any standards that cover this situation? Any guidance is appreciated.
