For round boards what we typically provide is a
web-cut. The board is routed nearly complete with web or fingers of material
remaining in 2, 3, 0r 4 points around the circumference. Sometimes we will
'nibble' drill this web for ease of removal. After assembly our customers would
use nippers to remove them easily from the panel.
If they are square boards, or have straight
edges...a post score machine is a good tool to have...

Subject: [TN] DE-PANELIZING
Hello Technetters,
I need to know if there is an industry
standard for de-panelizing. Or what is the best way to remove boards from
panels. We have panels that have round boards in them. Boards vary in size and
panels have anywhere from 2 to 6 boards. Right now some are routed out and
others are
cut out with side cutters.
Our problem is that the router is very slow and things get bottle necked at
that location.
Any input would be
appreciated.
