Oh
yuk....This almost beats my encounter at D'angelos Subs when the
woman
making
my sub not only answered the phone, but, picked something out of
her
teeth
(with her gloves on) prior to going back to making my
sandwich.
I'm
not sure which upset me more....the fact that I had to wait for her to
finish
her
personal phone call or the extra tartar in my sub!
Gloves
may make a good impression on the customer, but, only if they are used
properly.
Good afternoon Mr.
Watson,
I'm
in the field, but by no means an expert
on this. I share your mindset
though, especially after
seeing the cashier at the local Taco Bell handling
my
dirty old money with these cool clear gloves on his hand -
and then
proceed to handle the food with the same cool
gloves on!!! How much
good could that possibly do.
(I'm assuming that these gloves aren't
antibacterial with
super slick teflon coating to repel all possible
contamination!!)
I'm
not sure if this helps too much, but it might support
your view a little
bit! Good Luck.
Sincerely,
Dave

Advice
requested,
I'm sure this topic has been broached
before, but I would like to solicit your opinions on the subject of using
fingercots or gloves verses using bare hands when handling components or
PCB's before soldering or conformal coating (IPC Class II). I tried to
do a TechNet search on this, but it failed to go through for some
reason.
I am of the opinion that careful
handling of components or PCB's by their non-soldering surfaces with clean
bare hands is the way to go. Of course, it is up to manufacturing
personnel to keep their hands in a clean condition. From what I have
seen, gloves just tend to soak up and disperse multiple contaminants on
soldering surfaces and they give personnel a false sense of security.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for the advice.
