Do any of you seem
to work somewhere where RTV is the answer to everything???
We have a PCB with a
DIMM socket. The DIMM is inserted at one angle and then pushed down and
'locks' in at another angle to the PCB. Problem is, the catch mechanism
isn't very strong and sometimes the DIMM pops back up to the insertion
angle. We're concerned that when we ship these cards, the
DIMM will pop loose and eventually work its way out of the
socket.
Any suggestions as
to how to hold it in place? We don't want to do it so permanently that we
can't ever remove and replace a defective DIMM. The suggestion around here
is a dab of silicone RTV...
