Perhaps the paper published by Kolyer, Passchier and Tran (Boeing in Anaheim, CA) in the June 1998 issue of PC magazine (pp 19-21) will help.
 
They recommend measuring power density and resulting errosion by tracking the weight loss with time using aluminum foil (the stuff in your kitchen).
 
I tried it a couple of years ago. I don't have the data but as I remember it seemed to work.

Key issue is less Ultrasonic Cleaning, than what you clean in....

Aluminum is virtually attacked by hot water, and anodizing helps, but not a whole lot.

Ultrasound pumps in energy, and if attack is possible, with ultrasound it will become VERY possible....
