Perhaps the paper published by Kolyer, Passchier and Tran (Boeing in Anaheim, CA) in the June 1998 issue of PC magazine (pp 19-21) will help. They recommend measuring power density and resulting errosion by tracking the weight loss with time using aluminum foil (the stuff in your kitchen). I tried it a couple of years ago. I don't have the data but as I remember it seemed to work.
