Hi Donald, Good comments by the others, Also, you might want to reference IPC-D-325A Documentation Requirements for Printed Boards, Assemblies, and Support drawings. I believe it covers schematic diagrams as well. ANSI Y32.2 -1975 has been the standard for symbols and reference designations as long as I have been designing boards. There is a nice book we use in our Electronics Drafting and Design class at Palomar College by John Frostad, called Electronics Drafting that might lend itself to the novice schematic drafter or someone looking for some guide or reference to use for standard drafting practices.
