The industrial spec for enclosures I have usually fallen back on is the NEMA rating. They cover everything from explosion proof weather tight boxes for marine use to ultra clean stainless steel control boxes for food processing plants. Try www.nema.org search for industrial enclosures or ICS 6-1993. Another Lurker, Jeffrey A. I'm hunting for a military or industry specification for electronic enclosures covering the basics for the chassis etc. I've already found MIL-STD-108 and MIL-E-2036 and they don't help much. Someone in the office mentioned an old McDonald Douglas report that gave recommendations but I haven't seen it. The fab house is objecting to my going to aircraft tech orders for guidance since "AF TOs apply to structural components of the aircraft not internal boxes." Going overkill doesn't bug me as much as being underkill and I want to find that happy medium. Hans You can run . . . but you'll only die tired. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hans M.
