Hello Francis. Out of interest, do you know the composition of the lead finish? Instead of the normal Sn-bearing finishes, might it be a Ni-Pd-type, in which case its brightness characteristics will be markedly duller to the finish you may normally use? Good luck...Norm. Norman S. Robinson Glasgow, Scotland. Tel: +44(0)141-634-4145 Hi Technet, Our placement machine is rejecting a reel of SOT component, According to our SMT engineer, the reason is because the legs are not "shiny enough, the coating is dull ". Are there specifications on the brightness/dullness of the coating on the legs of components? Where can I find industry specification publications? Any input is appreciated.
