Remeber that the test methods have only how to do the tests and not what results or values would be acceptable.  That info is found in the specifications. 

The solder mask specification IPC-SM-840 changed the basic cure requirements in 1996 to represent what was used on the board - so the items that determine cure are isoproply alcohol/water solution, D- limonene, detergent, methanolamine and water.  The samples are also suppose to withstand soldering processes and be resistant to solder sticking to the solder mask.

There is no differentiation between types of solder mask.

Would recommend that you get a copy of 840.  Sometimes when samples are "rejected" for not meeting a test that is not in specs and standards, there is a lot of confusion.  Of course if you put on your purchase order that the boards submitted have to meet your acetone test, you would have no legal problems.
