Steve,
Press the part in and be done. If you solder a press fit connector
lead, you may never be able to get it out, if the connector ever had to be
replaced. Chances are you would damage the PCB first. The barbed portion of the
lead is intended to provide both the mechanical strength to hold the lead in
place and a positive electrical connection to the PCB.

Hi All!
Got a question, if
you have a board that has a press-fit connector on it, would you press it in
and automatically solder it?
Or would you press it in and be
done?
