Steve is right. These residues are conductive, moisture absorbing and will cause electrical leakage problems in the field. Just place a unit on functional test in a hot dry room and watch it pass, then take the unit place it in a humidity chamber at 35C 65%RH overnight (16 hours) then retest the unit (use proper safety precautions).
