We don't solder press fit connectors. But....when the hole diameter is not according to the connector manufacturer's specification-I mean the copper barrel, not the final finish- we do it. It did happen.
The question is who takes responsability for the boards you receive. The tolerances of the holes for press fit are very important.

Got a question, if you have a board that has a press-fit connector on it, would you press it in and automatically solder it?

Or would you press it in and be done?

Just trying to see if I'm missing something...
