Thanks all, for your input. I am going to explore the defect classification issue first. We don't use pallets and would like to use them (and adhesives) as a last resort. I was thinking of using a "U" shaped device that would slide onto board and connector to clamp them together. We use board stiffeners made of a fiberglass material that might work. Any suggestions as to any companies who provide an off the shelf type of camp / fixture? We used them in a previous life. We had certain connectors, sockets, and such that "rode up" during wave and we bought some dura-stone type material pallets that used arms that hinged down on these pesky parts. We classify a raised part as any gap between the PBC and the component even though we are still keeping with IPC's standard of lead length. Is our defect classification overkill? If not, does anyone have this problem and can suggest a remedy?
